Simply Perfected and Karin Prevedel (ITA) become first European Pleasure Celebration Champion - Austria second
What a great final for the first European Pleasure Celebration! Almost 2000 visitors watched a beautiful pleasure class of 14 great horses in the famous Ostbayernhalle in Kreuth judged by three great judges. The first European Champion came from Italy: the brown American Quarter Horse mare Simply Perfected and Karin Prevedel (ITA) won the final with all three judges and received the EUR 6200,-- for the first place. As the Pleasure Celebration was approved by NSBA USA, Karin and her horse should be leading NSBA ranking at the moment. And this title is even more important, as Karin Prevedel bred and trained the mare by A New Perspective herself!
The red roan gelding HC Ima Good Hot One (by Blazing Hot and owned by Ing. Günter Pöck, AUT) and Johanna Grabner placed second winning a purse of EUR 3500,--. The third place went to Italy again: CPR Blazing Calla unter Mirjam Giraudini, who bred and trained the sorrel mare by Blazing Hot herself as well.
But the three were not the only good finalists – the judges really had a hard time selecting their champions. These were 14 horses with surely a great future! All of these 3 1/2 –year-old horses are at the absolute beginning of their career. Congratulations to the organizer Carola Vey for bringing the Pleasure Celebration to Europe. Thanks to her effort, the European pleasure scene received new impulses. Also, the show already proved to be an excellent promotion platform for the competing trainers and the breeders of the horses. Right after the show, the first contacts were made by potential buyers. Judge Linda Long, who trained in Italy for years and knows the European pleasure scene very well, was very enthusiastic about this show: "With this event, Carola made a tremendous impact on the European Pleasure scene. The huge prize money, superb organization and the great horses set an example for further pleasure shows. I'm already looking forward to the next Pleasure Celebration. This could develop into a very interesting platform for American breeders as well!"
Carola Vey is already planning her 2008 Pleasure Celebration, as people started asking for next year's slots right after the show. Karin Prevedel already confirmed: "I'll be in next year again, we've got two interesting two-year-olds this year which might be good prospects for next year."
